A small coalition of lawmakers and activists with ties to Mayor Tom Menino are rallying around the mayoral candidacy of Charlotte Golar Richie, raising speculation that Richie could find momentum to break ahead of the crowded pack of candidates, and break barriers as the city's first female and African-American mayor.
Governor Andrew Cuomo is calling on Democratic Assembly member Vito Lopez to resign or face expulsion from the chamber. A list of sexual harassment complaints against Lopez from former staff members was released earlier this week.
